Before the update, the Windows default was Adobe in all. I checked the Windows Default Programs listing for pdf files before and after the updates. #Print from pdf shrink oversized pages cut off windows 7I updated FF to 82.0.2 on a total of six Windows 7 computers (each with Adobe DC reader already installed). I will report back the results of my upgrading my other machines to 82.0.2. ![]() Please see if the FF 82.0.2 is what made the change in Windows Default programs. Once I reset Windows Default programs back to Adobe, and set FF to "Windows default program for pdf", the Adobe icon appeared in the application selection box and the document did open in Adobe and print correctly - but it took longer for the document to open. #Print from pdf shrink oversized pages cut off upgradeI will later today ugrade hers to 82.0.2 (and I have 3 other computers with earlier FF versions which I will also upgrade to 82.0.2 - I will check the Windows Default setting before and after the upgrade) and see if that is the case. I wonder if FF upgrade 82.0.2 may have made that change. I checked my wife's computer, which has FF 81.0.2, and found that the Windows default pdf program had NOT been changed - it was still Adobe (I did not change it to Adobe). I checked another computer with FF 82.0.2 and found the same thing - the Windows default program for pdfs had been changed from Adobe to FF. I found that the default program for pdf files had been changed from Adobe to FF. This morning (after submitting the bug report) it occured to me to go to Windows Default Programs manager to see what the Windows default program for pdf files was. The FF icon appeared in the application selection box. I used FF's "options > applications" to choose "Use Windows default application" for pdf files. The FF version I for which I made the bug report is 82.0.2. If you want me to report any other parameters, please let me know. For what I read in the posts, these are correct. 8 (Tried 1.0 without success)Ī duplicate set of parameters for the HP 1320 I also tried were also created. Print.printer_HL-2270DW_USB.print_shrink_to_fit (The value is "true") The parameters that seemed important base on several web posts were (for the Brother HL-2270DW): print.printer_HL-2270DW_USB.print_paper_data (The value is "1" ) I checked all the print parameters using nfig > print. #Print from pdf shrink oversized pages cut off fullThe printed image was reduced, but the bottom quarter of the document page was cut off just as it had been at full size. Perhaps the document you printed had already been formatted when created to fit Letter page size without shrinking so that shrinking was not necessary - and the "shrink-to-fit" election was moot.Īs I noted in my submission, I tried reducing the size (even down to 30%). I was able to save the current document, and then open it and print it in Adobe (with shrink-to-fit) - it printed correctly. I have always had to "shrink-to-fit" these credit card statements, even using Adobe, both in IE11 and FF. I'm not sure how the the bank that manages the card formats their pdf documents regarding document page size (I have tried to obtain this information, but have not been successful). I'm afraid I cannot forward or give a link to the document because it is my monthly credit card statement that has too much personal information. The full document page should have priexpected nted within the paper boundaries. ![]() In both cases, a list of alternative programs was given, but Adobe DC was not in the list - FF ignores Adobe as a option to open pdf files. I tried to set the "Options > Applications" to both "AsK" and "Other" in order to open pdfs in Adobe DC which I know to function properly. Even if I reduce scale to less than 100% (such as 50%) only upper 3/4 of page prints in FF, but at reduced size. Document prints correctly (shrunk-to-fit) when pdf is saved and opened in Adobe DC. Only upper 3/4 of document page length prints on full sheet. One user familiar with problem suggested I submit this bug report. I checked the parameters in nfig > printer, and all are as recommended in many articles. I spent several hours on web sites looking for solutions. I verified in "Printer preferences" for both printers that "Letter" and "Shrink-to-fit" is default. Printers tried: Brother HL-2270DW, HP 1320. In the pdf document I am trying to print, only the upper 3/4 of page is printed on full paper page length (remainder does not carry over to next page). User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1 Win64 圆4 rv:81.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/81.0įF 82.0.2 (Win 7 Pro): "Shrink page to fit paper size" does not work printing downloaded pdf files ("Letter" 8-1/2 x 11 paper, or any other size). ![]()
